A note from the vicar of St. Mary’s Church
Links between St Mary’s School and St Mary’s Church go back a long way – and they are as strong now as they were at the start.
There are weekly visits by a member of the Clergy Team to lead Collective Worship (and story reading in the Nursery!), the Vicar and members of the Church serve as Governors, School Services take place twice a Term in Church, and pupils perform at other special Services during the School and Church Year. The contact and relationship between Church and School is one that continues to grow and develop over time.
Opportunities for visits, from both School to Church and Church to School, provide a firm basis upon which many children and their families build the spiritual development within their family. In addition, the Church community, to whom many school families already belong, is always delighted to get to know new children and parents from the school.
I hope you enjoy finding out about St Mary’s School, we are very proud of all that each child achieves.
The Reverend Deborah Snowball Vicar of St Mary’s Church
St. Mary’s Church
The school is part of the wider St. Albans diocesean group of schools. The diocese supports the school and provides professional development for the staff. Further information about work of the diocese can be found here at their website.
The children and staff visit the Church for services at the beginning and end of each term, as well as making educational visits at other times throughout the year. The Church is very proud of the school and all that is achieved by the children and staff alike.
We pray for the School daily across all aspects of its life; and welcome news of its life, which is shared through our Church magazine, Link.
