Thoughts from the Chair of Governors
I would like to echo Mr Wanford’s welcome to you all and I thank you for your interest in our school.
St Mary’s school has a long tradition in Rickmansworth, dating back to 1711.
We are proud of our pupils’ achievements in all areas of their school life, whether those achievements are academic, creative or sporting.
In 2013, our school was inspected by two bodies; the first inspection, in January, was by the SIAS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools). We were deemed “a good school”. Some of the inspectors’ comments from this report are included for your perusal:
“The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Mary’s as a Church of England school are good.”
“The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners.”
The recent inspection by Ofsted in July also deemed St Mary’s “a good school”.
Our pupils enjoy coming to school. They also enjoy their lessons and their extra-curricular activities.
In line with the school’s Christian ethos, we take a pride in educating our pupils and developing a strong sense of morality in them, whatever their faith or none.
