St Mary's Rickmansworth Church of England Primary School Aspiring, nurturing, flourishing; together shining a light

Class Mentors

Pupils in Year 6 are our Class Mentors. We recognise the important role of Class Mentors in supporting our school community. This role comes with both privilege and responsibility, as Class Mentors are expected to be positive role models and offer support in a variety of situations to benefit both the class teacher and their peers.

Some of the key responsibilities of our Class Mentors include:

  • To be a role model in terms of attitude, attendance, behaviour, manners, and appearance to all members of the St. Mary's community.
  • To support younger pupils during Collective Worship by sitting with them and helping them return to their classroom.
  • To assist the class teacher in a range of classroom activities, providing support where needed.
  • To help support pupils on the playground, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
  • To model and encourage positive behaviour throughout the school.
  • To be proactive in supporting the staff team with tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • To show initiative in any other areas where they can help make the school a better place for all pupils.

Class Mentors are trusted with leading by example and fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for all students at St. Mary’s.
