Within the curriculum, starting from Year One, children receive weekly Spanish lessons. From Years 3 to 6, we provide whole-class instrument lessons, including recorders, ukuleles and, from next year, keyboards for Year 6. We aim for all children to read music, compose, and perform confidently. Our "Secret Garden" allows each class to plant and nurture vegetables, giving children hands-on learning experiences and hands-on experience of sustainability.
Each half term, we hold a themed week to broaden children's horizons and provide new learning opportunities. For example, during Art Week, a visiting artist runs workshops, culminating in an Art Exhibition for parents. Sports Week includes a variety of activities focused on fitness, with Upper Key Stage 2 taking part in canoeing and paddleboarding at the Aquadrome. STEM Week sees the involvement of parents, and Year 6 students host a Science Fair for the rest of the school to explore. These weeks bring learning to life in exciting and dynamic ways!
