We've had another action-packed week exploring our topics in class and shining our lights around school in our many roles and responsibilities.

In Science, we became electrical engineers for the afternoon as we explored how to fix broken circuits. The children investigated common faults, tested their ideas, and used problem‑solving skills to get bulbs glowing again. We enjoyed using a simulator to check the voltage in circuits to explore if our bulbs would blow!

In Music, we have begun learning to sing The White Cliffs of Dover. The children have shown great focus as they listen carefully to the melody and practise singing with control and expression. It’s already sounding beautiful, and we’re looking forward to developing it further over the next few weeks.

In History, our learning has centred on the roles of women during the Second World War. The children compared these roles to those in the First World War and discussed how expectations and opportunities changed over time. Their thoughtful questions and insights have led to some excellent discussions.

In Collective Worship, we have been thinking deeply about spirituality and what it means within our school community. The children designed their own logos to represent our school’s spiritual values, and the creativity on display was fantastic.

In Positive Minds, our focus has been on support networks and building strong, healthy relationships. Through discussion and activities, the children explored who they can turn to when they need help and how they can be a positive support for others.
