30th January

It has been another fabulous week in Year 2. We have been busy in maths practising division facts from the 2, 5 and 10 times table. Please continue practising these tables at home, as it really supports children’s fluency. Next week we will focus on odd and even numbers and division problem solving.

We have finished writing our class stories about the adventures of Harry the hare - they were fantastic and the children can’t wait to start our own wishing tales next week and we can’t wait to read them!

Foundation subject highlights:

Music: learning 'Lavender's Blue' and shining a light on Vera Lynn

RE: shining a light on Moses as leader of Jewish beliefs

Geography: exploring human geographical features of Rickmansworth

Science: exploring a healthy, balanced diet

Art: making architectural models of houses

PSHE: touches we like and don’t like and how to respond to these

Spelling test and library

As we have two class trips next week there will be NO spelling test and NO library session as there is not enough time to fit them in.

Show and Tell: Mia, Niven, Norah, Phoenix, Reggie, Savannah

This will be on Thursday next week but if your child would like to bring something in, please send it into school on Wednesday as we are meeting at the station on Thursday morning.

TRIPS:

Please can children come dressed ready to walk in any weather on both Tuesday and Thursday.

Our grateful thanks in advance to all the parents who have offered to accompany us. For the field trip around Rickmansworth, please arrive at school at 12:45pm, so we can leave at 1pm. We will be back in time for the end of school.

For those accompanying us on Thursday to the synagogue, we will meet you at the station at 8:45am. We will be walking back to school after the trip, in time for lunch. Please accompany us back to school, where possible.
