13th March 2026

We've had a busy week this week!

In maths this week we have been exploring mass and capacity. The children have been comparing and measuring different objects and containers to see which are heavier or lighter, and which hold more or less. We have used practical equipment to help us investigate and talk about our findings.

In English we have been learning about writing in the past tense and using adjectives to make our writing more interesting. The children have been working hard to describe events and add extra detail to their sentences.

In science we have been learning about seasons and weather. We took advantage of the windy weather and brought out a kite. The children made predictions about what might happen when we flew it and then observed what actually happened in the wind.

In RE we have been learning about the Easter story and discussing how it fits into the Bible. The children listened carefully to the story and talked about why it is important to Christians.

In PE we practised controlling a ball using our hands and feet. The children worked on their coordination and control through a variety of fun activities and games.

In PSHE we have been exploring how we should look after our belongings and care for others. As part of this learning we now have a class pet plant called Bobby. The children have been thinking about what Bobby needs to survive and how we can take responsibility for caring for him.

We have also started enjoying our new class book Dirty Bertie, which has already brought lots of laughter to the classroom.

To support learning at home, please continue to read at least five times a week and record this in your child’s reading record. Spellings have gone out this week, so regular practice will be helpful. Please also keep up with handwriting practice, ensuring letters are formed correctly.

There are now only two weeks left to complete the Forgiveness Change Maker Project. We encourage the children to try one of the activities at home and reflect on ways they can show forgiveness to others.

Finally, we would love to invite all parents and families to our Easter Service on Thursday 26th March at 6pm. It will be a very special service with all pupils singing and taking part, and we hope as many families as possible will be able to join us.

Please

Thank you for your continued support.
