Friday 24th April
This week in class, we’ve been busy learning lots of exciting new things across the curriculum!
In Maths, we have been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. We’ve been using different activities to help us recognise patterns in numbers and build our confidence.
In English, we have been focusing on describing animals to create suspense in our writing. We used powerful adjectives and carefully chosen details to make our descriptions more exciting and engaging.
In Science, we started our new topic all about plants. We planted tomato and bean seeds and we are looking forward to observing how they grow over the coming weeks.
In History, we learned about the first flight by the Wright brothers and discussed why this was such an important moment in history.
In RE, we began learning about the Jewish celebration of Sukkot. As part of this, we worked together to build our own Sukkahs and explored why they are important.
In PE, we have been developing our coordination skills by using rackets to control moving balls along the floor. We have also experimented with the most effective way of running.
To support learning at home, please continue to read at least five times a week and record this in your child’s reading record. Spellings have gone out this week, so regular practice will be helpful. Please also keep up with handwriting practice, ensuring letters are formed correctly.
