What another great week we have had in Year 5!
In Maths, we have moved onto perimeter and area. The children have worked successfully to understand how to calculate missing numbers in a perimeter and recognise that compound shapes can be broken up into rectilinear shapes to find out area.
We explored the theories scientists originally had about how our solar system was arranged in Science this week. The children learnt that originally, people believed the Earth was at the centre - this is called a geocentric model. The children drew their own heliocentric models to show how the sun is at the centre.
Everyone has been thoroughly delving into our Writing unit. The children have been demonstrating excellently different toolkit features and I am very much looking forward to seeing how this develops when we move onto a shared then independent write.
In RE, the children learnt that for Muslims, 'Tawhid' is at the centre of the Muslim faith. They learnt that everything revolves around this.
The children are all aware of what activity for the Changemaker project they are working on. Please support them at home to complete this!
Home Learning Please ensure that children are ‘in the green’ on Doodle.
