19th September
Thank you to all those who attended the meet the teacher information session. Please reach out to the office if you have any questions.
Next week we will spend one of our Collective worship sessions as a class, discussing our new initiative: The Changemaker Project. We introduced this bespoke citizenship programme to the school two weeks ago and we are looking forward to hearing which activities have been chosen, and how each class is getting on progressing with it. If you've not had opportunity to discuss it with your child, please do so this weekend, ready for next week. They only need to choose one activity from the Friendship section - https://online.fliphtml5.com/hrjzj/ejai/
It has again been a very busy week in Year 5 with our learning!
ENGLISH: With our model text firmly embedded in our minds (and a song to help us remember our toolkit!) we have begun to explore some of the features of the toolkit with short burst writing.
MATHS: We are continuing with our place value unit and have been looking at how we place numbers on a number line up to 1 million.
HISTORY: The children found it interesting to understand not only the locations that the Anglo-Saxons came from but the reasons they invaded too.
PE: During PE, we began constructing different levels of motifs for our dance unit in time to a piece of music.
RE: Our mural of representations why God is holy and loving is beginning to come together.
HOME LEARNING:
READING: X5 times a week minimum including reading to an adult.
MATHS & ENGLISH: Being 'in the green' on Doodle.
SPELLING: Please complete the spelling assignment on Doodle.
