Friday 11th September

We have had a fantastic first full week in Year 5!
In our English lessons, we have been looking at our model text for character descriptions. Using pictorial representations, we have explored and acted out the narrative.
In Maths, we have been recapping place value and have learned to read and write numbers up to 1 million.
Here is what we have been learning in some of our other subjects:
SCIENCE: We conducted an experiment to test whether the mass of an object affects the speed at which it falls.
MUSIC: We explored the history of musical theatre, listened to songs from different musicals and identified some of their key features.
RE: We studied different texts from the Bible and considered what God is like and what He does, helping us to understand why He might be described as holy and loving.
Home Learning
READING: Please read at least 5 times a week, including reading to an adult.
MATHS & ENGLISH: Please aim to stay ‘in the green’ on Doodle and complete the Base Assessments
SPELLING: Please complete the spelling assignment on Doodle.
