7th November

Welcome back, everyone! We hope you all had a lovely and restful half term break. It’s been wonderful to see everyone’s happy faces back in school, ready for another exciting few weeks of learning and fun!

In maths, we’ve been learning how to make number sentences. The children have been using numbers and symbols to show addition and subtraction, and have worked really hard to explain their thinking clearly.

In English, we’ve started exploring non-chronological reports — and our reports are all about dragons! We’ve been learning how to write facts, use interesting vocabulary, and describe these magical creatures in lots of detail.

In geography, we’ve been looking at aerial photos and how they help us to understand and create maps. The children really enjoyed spotting familiar places and features from above!

We’ve also started practising the songs for our Nativity. The singing is sounding wonderful already — we can’t wait to share it with you later this term!

In PSHE, we’ve been talking about how we are all different and how that makes our class special. We learnt that it’s okay to be different.

Home learning:

Please keep reading 5 times a week with your children.

Please keep practising spellings and handwriting with your children.
