26th November

What a busy and brilliant week it has been! We are incredibly proud of all the children for their fantastic effort, especially during their assessments. They showed great determination and resilience—well done, everyone!

This week in maths, we have been exploring number bonds within and to 10 to help really cement this important knowledge. The children worked hard and showed great progress.

In English, we have been learning about generalisers and how we can use them effectively in our writing. The children enjoyed experimenting with these in their own sentences.

Our science focus this week was on the differences between mammals and amphibians. We had some lively discussions and the children showed great curiosity.

In PE, we have been practising rolling and bouncing balls while developing our control and coordination. The children really enjoyed the challenges set for them.

In Design and Technology, we explored solid structures, looking at what makes them strong and stable. The children loved investigating different shapes and designs.

This week in PSHE, we talked about fair and unfair situations. The children shared thoughtful ideas and showed a strong sense of empathy and fairness.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Year 1 team!
