Happy New Year!

Welcome back and Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a restful Christmas break and enjoyed some quality time together. The children have returned with fantastic attitudes and plenty of enthusiasm for the term ahead — thank you for helping them come back ready to learn.

It’s been a busy first week as we’ve begun several of our new topics. In Science, we’ve begun exploring electricity, starting with identifying and drawing circuit symbols. The children have already shown great curiosity, and we’ll soon be moving on to building and testing circuits of our own.

In History, we’ve stepped into our new topic on World War Two. This week we focused on setting the scene: when the war began, who was involved, and how life in Britain changed. The children asked thoughtful questions and are clearly eager to learn more about this important period.

Looking ahead, next week we begin our first Positive Minds session. This programme will run throughout the term and will support the children in developing resilience, emotional awareness, and strategies for positive wellbeing — a valuable part of preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

Our topics for this half term are:
Science - Electricity
History - WW2
RE - Hinduism
DT - Torches
Music - Songs from WW2
PSHE - Keeping Safe
Computing - Webpages

Have a brilliant weekend!
