In Maths, we have been learning to tell the time using o'clock and half past. The children have enjoyed exploring clocks and practising reading and matching different times.

In English, we have started our exciting new topic on instruction writing. We have been looking at what instructions are, why they are useful, and identifying the key features that help us follow them successfully.

In Geography, our new topic is all about coasts. This week, we used atlases to explore the United Kingdom and identify the different seas and oceans that surround it. The children enjoyed developing their map-reading skills and learning more about the geography of our country.

In PE, we have been exploring the roles of an attacker and a defender in team games. The children practised working together, making decisions, and developing their understanding of simple game tactics.

In PSHE, we learned about the amazing jobs our bodies do every day to keep us alive and healthy. We discussed how different parts of our bodies work together and why it is important to look after ourselves through healthy habits.

Messages and Reminders

• Please continue to read with your child at least five times a week. Regular reading makes a huge difference to their confidence and progress.
• We will be giving out new spellings next week, so please ensure that spelling books are brought into school on Wednesday.
• We have started our next Changemaker Project. This term, our focus is Perseverance. Please have a chat with your child about a challenge they would like to complete to earn their Perseverance sticker.
• Don't forget that children can still complete challenges linked to our previous values if they would like to continue working towards those achievements as well.
