13th February

We have had a wonderful final week, completing many of our topics:
In English, we have spent time focused on editing our own wishing tales, with brilliant results!
In Geography, Miss Maguire held a 'Mastermind' competition to find the most well-informed Rickmansworth experts:)
In RE, we thought about when we feel joyful and how we can spread joy to others.
In Music, we learnt our final song from the British Isles 'London Bridge is Falling Down'
As part of Art week, we have been looking at the work of Joan Miro and produced our own drawings in his style. We also tried our hand at mini wire sculptures.
In PSHE we talked about safe and unsafe secrets and who we should tell if we feel uncomfortable about an adult asking us to keep a secret. You may wish to follow up this conversation at home so children can share what we discussed.
On Tuesday, across the school we spent time thinking about Safer Internet Day. We explored using AI, primarily focused on using 'Voice Assistants' safely and responsibly. Childnet.com is a website with advice for parents and carers to help support their children and young people in the safe and responsible use of the internet.
It was fantastic to see so many of you on Tuesday at our Book Look. Thank you for coming. The class are always so excited to show off their fabulous learning!
A taste of our topics for next half term include: 'The Great Fire of London' in History, Easter for our RE unit, Animal lifecycles in Science and we will be baking Easter biscuits in DT.
Show and Tell (Wednesday 25th February):
Alex, Amelia, Angelo, Apostolos, Beau, Betty
We hope you all have a restful half term and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 23rd February.
Best wishes
Mrs Lee and Mrs Bartram
