28th March

It has been a super week at school with a flurry of exciting and thought-provoking activities, including a visit from the NSPCC, making Easter biscuits, taking part in the Easter service and parading with our Easter bonnets! In amongst all of this, we have completed many of our foundation subject units, evaluating what we have learnt and reflecting on what difference that might make to our own life.
A huge thank you to all those families who attended the Easter service on Thursday evening. It is always wonderful to have the school community together. We were proud of Year 2's contributions.
Thank you also for your support in creating such brilliant bonnets for Friday morning!
We hope that on Tuesday your child told you about the visit we had from 2 representatives of the NSPCC who talked to the class about the meaning of a 'safe adult'. Everyone made a personal list of who they felt their own 'safe adults' might be – in school and out of school. They also taught us the Childline number and explained where to find help on their website. Their website contains useful parenting advice as well, including how to keep children safe online.
Reading Challenge for the Easter holidays:
Whilst we hope every child will continue to read 5 times a week over the holidays, we have set a challenge: any pupil that reads 14 times or more (in their 18-day holiday period) will be awarded extra house points and an Above and Beyond sticker upon their return!
We wish you all a very Happy Easter and a restful holiday,
Mrs Bartram and Mrs Lee
