Friday 13th February

Wow!  What a busy but fabulous half-term.   Year 3 you have shone your light brightly and worked really hard; you should all be very proud of your achievements this half-term.

In English, we have finished our independent narratives and are looking forward to finding out what our next model text and link toolkits will be next half-term.

In Maths, we have been working on multiplying and dividing a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number.  This marks the end of the unit, and after the half-term holiday, we will be moving on to learning about length and perimeter.

Foundation Subjects:

Art – As it was Art Week, we explored the work of Joan Miró and created our own fabulous painted canvases, featuring our interpretations of his work.

DT – We absolutely loved the Locomotive Workshop on Monday!  This was part one of the project, with part two booked in to complete our models next month.

Science – We shone a light on Warren Henry, a famous physicist, particularly known for his work on magnetism.

Music – We had the opportunity to perform our pentatonic scale compositions in small groups to the rest of the class.

Home Learning:

Doodle – Please continue to support your child’s progress by accessing the Doodle Learning platform and ensuring they remain in the green zone for English, Maths and Times Tables.

Reading – Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least five times each week and sign their reading record on each occasion.

Spelling – None this week.

Have a lovely half-term break and a well-deserved rest.
