21st November
In Year 3 we have continued to shine our light brightly and work hard in all areas of our learning this week.
We have built upon last week’s learning themes by developing our knowledge of column addition and subtraction in maths using 3-digit numbers and carrying across the 10’s and 100’s columns and working on three our focus toolkits in English – Prepositions, Conjunctions and Headings & Sub-Headings.
Foundation Subjects:
Science – We were excited to complete an investigation using UV beads and sun cream to test the effects of UV light.
Geography – We explored the different sections of a river and the journey it takes from start to finish.
Music – We looked at how percussion instruments can help to add layers and enhance the feeling and imagery of a piece of music.
PSHE – We discussed the theme of belonging to a community and created our own community webs.
RE – We focused on the Jewish festival of light called Hanukkah.
PE – We continued to practise and develop our netball skills.
Home Learning:
Doodle - Please continue to support your child’s progress by accessing the Doodle Learning platform and remaining in the green zone for English, Maths and Times tables.
Reading - Please ensure that you have listened to your child read at least five times during the week and signed their reading record.
