Published 13/03/26, by Charlotte PrestonWe have had another great week in Year 5.
The children really enjoyed participating in their house groups and singing their group songs. Everyone is putting in a fabulous amount of effort.
In Maths, we have begun our new topic on decimals. The children have begun to recognise the correlation between fractions (tenths and hundredths) and the way they are written as decimals.
We have begun exploring mechanisms in DT and considering how we can create a variety of mechanisms including push pull, reverse motion and bell crank.
In English, we have continued to work through our toolkit features in short writes and the children have been really considering how they can include as many features as possible.
IN PSHE we considered the different roles we could volunteer for in the community and discussed the impact that voluntary work has on others.
In RE, the children took part in a fun activity where they looked at the last supper - even arranging the tables as one long surface and reenacting the event.
CHANGEMAKER PROJECT: Please ensure you are encouraging your children to complete their projects and to start bringing them in.
Home Learning Please ensure that children are ‘in the green’ on Doodle.
