What an unforgettable Sports Week!

We have had another incredibly busy and exciting week in Year 6, making memories that will stay with us long after we leave St Mary's.

On Monday, we welcomed ex-St Mary's pupil Niobe, who inspired us with her journey to becoming a goalkeeper for the Welsh national team. The children loved taking part in the goalkeeping workshop and hearing how perseverance, determination and hard work helped her achieve her dream.

Monday also brought our much-anticipated Break the Rules Day! It was wonderful to see the children's creativity on display, particularly with the fantastic range of crazy and colourful hairstyles that appeared around the classroom. Thank you to everyone who supported this fun event.

On Wednesday, the children headed to the Aquadrome for a brilliant afternoon of watersports. They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, communication and resilience. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and, of course, a few splashes along the way! It was lovely to see everyone encouraging one another and making the most of such a memorable experience.

On Thursday, Year 6 spent the day at their new secondary schools as part of their transition programme. We hope they all had a wonderful day, made new friends and came home feeling excited about the next chapter of their education.

Today was the perfect way to end Sports Week with our Key Stage 2 Sports Day. Despite the incredibly warm weather, the children showed excellent determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout every event. We were incredibly proud of the way they supported one another, celebrated each other's successes and represented St Mary's so brilliantly.

In between all of these exciting activities, Year 6 have been working incredibly hard rehearsing our End of Year production. The children are starting to bring the show to life, and we are looking forward to sharing all of their hard work with you next week. Please keep practising at home!

Production – Please ensure you know all of your lines and the words to every song. From Monday, scripts will no longer be used during rehearsals, so everyone needs to be performance-ready.
