Friday, 5th December 2025

We were fortunate to have an exciting netball session run by the School Sports Partnership on Monday. The children worked hard to develop their defending skills and teamwork, and it was great to see so much enthusiasm and energy on the court.

We also had a special visit from Gary, vicar at St. Mary's Church, on Monday to help us understand more about how Christian lives are transformed by their belief in Jesus as the Messiah. We planned thoughtful questions to ask Gary and enjoyed hearing about his thoughts on Jesus' transfiguration. We will go on next to explore how Jesus as Messiah influences the things Christians do day-to-day.

In Art, we have now begun painting the triangles that will eventually form our wave bowls. After learning how to use light and shadow effectively, we started applying our designs to the foam boards with real focus and creativity. We can’t wait to see the finished pieces come together next week!

Science this week took us outside as we investigated how the length and shape of shadows change throughout the day. We discussed why this happens and used our findings to take on a fun challenge: designing the layout of parasols around a swimming pool to provide maximum shade.

In History, we explored what life was like for children during World War One. We discovered that while many children continued going to school, others took on work or helped at home. We also played traditional games from the period and wrote diary entries from the perspective of WW1 children, imagining their hopes, worries, and daily experiences.

In PSHE, our focus has been on respect and valuing differences. We discussed the impact of prejudice and why it is so important to be open-minded, learn about others, and avoid making assumptions. The children showed thoughtful maturity in their conversations.

There are only two weeks left of term and so only two weeks left to work on your activity for the Change Maker Project. You will need to bring in any evidence that you have completed a task in the final week.
