Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
At the First Aid Workshop, we started by learning if you need to give CPR to someone; we were shown the procedure of how to check if they actually needed it. We got into partners and performed it on each other, firstly making sure it was safe around them and then shouting for help if they weren’t responding. We had to do compressions for 30 beats and then 2 breaths. We also learned the correct way to put someone in the recovery position.
During the session we also practised putting bandages and slings on somebody if they were bleeding or seriously hurt a part of their upper body. We learned how to help somebody who is choking by giving them back slaps, found out what should be kept in a first aid kit, and also how to correctly administer an epi-pen in case of an allergic reaction.
Today we were learning about recycling and where your rubbish goes. We had to match the rubbish up to the right bin. We learned that metal comes from deep underground and our rubbish goes to the MRF (this a factory that separates all the different rubbish).

Today we had a hot chocolate with Mrs Edwards. Before Christmas we held a 'Children in Need' fundraiser by helping other pupils to decorate cookies and treasure boxes. We raised a total of £206.75. We are very proud of how much we raised.
Welcome back!
I hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas break. The children have come back to school enthused and ready to learn. We have a lot going on this term and more details will follow in the newsletter next week.
