Intent
At St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, our curriculum is designed to support the development of the whole child through thoughtfully planned and well-resourced lessons. These lessons aim to build pupils' knowledge and skills, empowering them to grow personally and socially, safeguard and enhance their wellbeing, stay safe and healthy, foster positive relationships, and become active citizens who contribute responsibly to our diverse society.
The SCARF programme plays a key role in promoting a deep understanding of British Values, encouraging respect for others and their roles in society, while helping pupils develop a strong sense of self-worth and identity. By doing so, it nurtures their confidence and enables them to positively engage in school life and the wider community.
All topics within the curriculum support social, moral, spiritual, and cultural development, providing pupils with essential safeguarding knowledge and ensuring they know where to seek help when needed.
We are dedicated to inspiring our children to embrace both their unique qualities and shared experiences, equipping them with the skills to navigate challenges with confidence. In a safe and supportive environment, we empower every child to flourish and lead a life that is joyful, secure, and full of well-being.
