St Mary's Rickmansworth Church of England Primary School Aspiring, nurturing, flourishing; together shining a light

Pupil Leadership Team

At St. Mary’s, we are proud to have a dedicated Leadership Team consisting of the Head Girl, Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, and Deputy Head Boy. These positions are central to the running of our school, providing leadership and guidance to their peers. The school democratically votes for these positions, with both pupils and staff participating in the process. Each pupil wishing to hold one of these roles writes a letter to Mrs. Maxwell, presents their vision in an assembly to the whole school, and then the children have ballot papers to complete.

Some of the key responsibilities of our Leadership Team include:

  • To lead and organise various school councils, ensuring that all pupil voices are heard.
  • To lead and drive pupil voice initiatives, ensuring the views of all pupils are represented and acted upon.
  • To be role models for younger pupils, supporting them in their learning and school life.
  • To assist in organising and leading key school events, such as fundraising activities.
  • To liaise with staff and pupils to encourage collaboration on school projects and initiatives.
  • To represent the school at events and welcome visitors.
  • To help lead Celebration Worship on Fridays, playing an active role in sharing the week's achievements.
  • To help promote the values of St. Mary’s by being responsible, respectful, and proactive in all areas of school life.

The Leadership Team is entrusted with the responsibility to be the voice of the pupils and take on a wide range of duties that support the running of the school. Their leadership helps foster a sense of community, responsibility, and pride at St. Mary’s.
